The Baby of the Year 2010 Calendar Contest supports the Signal’s Newspaper in Education (NIE) Program and helps insure that we can continue to provide all of the schools in our valley with daily copies of the newspaper.
• Each top 12 vote-getter will be featured on a month in our 2010 Baby Calendar.
• First place will be featured on the cover.
• All entrants will appear in the calendar.
• Cast as many votes as you like. $1.00 per vote.
Voting
• Voting may be done online by credit card only.
• Voting may be done by phone. Please call (661) 902-5585 between the hours of 6:15 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, and 7:15 am to 11:45 am Saturday and Sunday.
• Votes may be dropped off at the Signal Circulation office at 24000 Creekside Rd. in Valencia between the hours of 6:30 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, and 7:00 am to 12:00 noon, Saturday and Sunday.
• Votes may be mailed to The Signal Baby of the Year at P. O. Box 801870 Santa Clarita, Ca. 91380-1870.
• Mail-in votes must be postmarked by Friday, November 20, 2009.
• Walk-in and Phone-in votes will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2009.
• Internet voting will close at 11:59:59 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2009.
• Online voting results may not accurately reflect the total number of votes per entrant due to pending mail-in, walk-in or phone-in votes.
• All entrants will be scheduled for an additional photo shoot.
• Any additional information may be obtained online, in the Signal, or by calling the Baby Calendar Hotline at (661) 902-5585.

Our readers will select one special child as the Baby of the Year, and that child could be yours!
Contest Rules
• Babies must be born on or after 1/1/06.
• Take a clear, sharp photo of your baby (no Polaroid or professional photos, professional photos are copy-righted; digital photos are encouraged). Poor quality photos cannot be accepted.
• Photos and CD-ROMs are not returnable.
• By submitting content, you give The Signal perpetual, exclusive rights to use, publish or derive revenue from your submission.
• Digital photos must be at least two inches wide and 300 DPI.
• The Signal reserves the right to require proof of age.
Register Today!
• Register your baby's photo here online, by mail, or at the Signal Circulation office with a $5.00 donation payable to The Signal.
• Registration forms, photos and your donations can be mailed to Signal Baby Contest, PO Box 801870, Santa Clarita, CA 91380; or
• Delivered to the Signal Circulation Office at 24000 Creekside Rd., Santa Clarita, CA 91355.
• Entry deadline is 11:59 PM on Saturday, October 31, 2009
• Entrants must live within 60 miles of the Signal office or subscribe to the Signal's e-edition.
How does it work?
• View the entries and vote for your favorite.
• Anyone can vote for their favorite baby with a $1.00 NIE donation payable to The Signal.
• Each $1.00 donation counts as one vote, and you can vote as many times as you like.
• Votes are prepaid at the Registration page (To purchase more votes go back to the registration page).
Winners
• Winners will be determined by the overall number of votes received.
• The overall winner will be featured on the cover of the 2010 Baby of the Year Calendar, and on one individual month. The other top 11 vote getters will be featured on the individual month pages; and prizes will be awarded to the top 3 contestants.
• Each baby that receives 100 votes or more will be featured in the calendar on a day of the month closest to their birthday or the month represented by their costume.
Can I still submit a photo if the contest has already started?
Yes. As long as it is still within the submission period.
